The positive response to my in-person training sessions is truly humbling and appreciated. However, there is a waitlist for these sessions at the moment. Despite this, I suggest you sign up and join the list as I regularly assess availability and may be able to accommodate you earlier than anticipated. In the meantime, I provide personalized virtual coaching and fitness plans to cater to your unique needs.

I started working with Training For Life CK in 2018 to prepare for my first USAT Age Group Nationals. I was an experienced triathlete, but I had a long history of injuries, and I wanted someone who could help me not only train for performance, but to adjust the plan as needed to ensure I stayed healthy. Not only did I stay injury-free and have a very successful race at Nationals in 2018, I set significant sprint and olympic distance PRs that year. I continued to work with Jean for the next four years and set personal bests in every triathlon distance and podiumed in every race I entered. Jean checked my feedback on workouts daily and was always making adjustments on the fly to ensure I was training and performing my best. She really got to know me and understood what I needed to stay fit, strong, and healthy. I'd consider my time with Jean to be the most successful of my triathlon life!

Jean offered a 60-day healthy lifestyle challenge at the school we were working at. I had always been an intermittent runner for most of my life but never ran anything more than a 5k. This challenge required that I had not only physical fitness expectations but also taught me about healthy eating. I had tried different fad diets like cutting carbs or eating only certain food groups but Jean taught me that I needed a well-rounded calorie conscious diet. I was able to lose 15 pounds with her help which was a small side effect to how strong I would become. I continued to train with Jean with the hope of completing the Parkway Classic 10 miler. Within just 3 short months, Jean had coached me to not only complete the 10 miles but finish it with such confidence, that I entered to run the Marine Corp Marathon. Jean guided and pushed me through a rigorous training regiment that she personally designed for me. During this process, I completed my first half Marathon in the exhausting heat of July and my first Army 10 Miler. Just a few short months later I was crossing the finish after 26.2 miles with a smile on my face. Although, I thought this was the biggest accomplishment on my journey of being coached by Jean…it was not. Jean suggested I try a Triathlon. I apprehensively accepted this challenge. I was not a great swimmer and knew the basics of riding a bike. I have to admit that the swim portion of my first Triathlon was challenging and the bike portion was a struggle. However, with Jean by my side I never let that get in the way of how proud I was to complete the race. Jean believed in me and motivated me to continue to work on my swim and bike. I completed triathlon after triathlon with her guidance. She gave me the confidence to buy and clip into my first road bike and join the Master’s swim team. Even now when I am not being coached by Jean I still run and complete an occasional 10 miler. She has had a lasting effect on my life and my health. #trainingforlifeck

I cannot say enough about all the things Jean has helped me with. Jean coached me through my first Olympic triathlons and helped me drop my sprint triathlon time significantly. Also, my running time dropped from ~10 min to 7.5 per mile. Most importantly, Jean helped me understand how diet affects my body and performance and taught me how to train and recover from injury. These are lessons I use all the time outside of sports including with my recent pregnancy and post-partum recovery. On top of all of that, Jean is just incredibly kind, reliable and killer at writing and adapting a training plan.
